The right storage facilities for each type of product or material are essential to maintain quality and ensure safety. This is especially true for the storage of fertilizers, minerals, agro-products and biomass.
Maja has a warehouse for storage of bulk and/or break bulk, with a total of 3 compartments of 750 m2 each. The water depth at the storage is 9.6 meters. The quay with a length of 400 meters is especially suitable for handy size bulk carriers with a dwt of 28,000-30,000 mt.
We ensure that your goods are stored under the best possible conditions. We can offer weighing facilities on location. Multiple options are possible, such as dividing the warehouse into smaller compartments or other customization. We use various protocols for the storage of agri-bulk, minerals, fertilizers and biomass and/or break bulk.
Since January 2023, Maja has had 3 hectares of land at Vlothaven, located on deep water (11.50 mtr draft) with a quay length of 215 meters. The terminal is suitable for open storage of many types of bulk and breakbulk goods.
For loading and unloading, an ultramodern mobile harbour crane Liebherr LHM 550, fully electric — so no CO2 emissions — is present. The capacity of this crane is around 500 tonnes per hour in bulk (depending on the type of bulk). In addition to the above-mentioned crane, there is a hydraulic harbour crane and large loading shovel present.
The terminal has a very comprehensive environmental permit, which makes safe storage of all kinds of waste and recycling materials possible.
The terminal will be equipped with a special liquid-tight floor and will have an advanced brooding detection, surveillance and dust control system. By means of special cameras there will be 24/7 surveillance. Mist cannons will ensure dust control if necessary.
